This is a wonderful book for all Thomas More enthusiasts. I remember John Guy's tv programme a few years back, The King's Servant. He spoke of Margaret's visits to the Tower and the time spent with her father. Also how the letters that passed between them were written for posterity as they contained things they had already discussed. I hadn't realised that when Margaret came to take the oath she did so with the proviso, 'as far as will stand with the law of God.' I always wondered how Thomas felt about her taking it. Margaret loved him so much she was prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice should God will it. She could only pray that she should be forgiven and be reunited with her father in Heaven.
John Guy is THE Thomas More expert in my opinion. It's always to him I go if I need to find something out.
